Happy Father’s Day

Published by Chuck Franks on June 22nd, 2009

Thank you Dad,for always being my solid rock, for teaching me values that withheld the test of time, for teaching me patience (a lesson still being worked on)for supporting me,pushing me,accepting me,loving me.I am who I am today because my father is who he is. Steadfast in his conviction to be a man. A man not defined by outside criteria but one who bases decisions in love and value and honor. Salt of the earth kind of guy.I come from a working class family but somehow growing up I taught to believe I was equal to anyone. I was taught the value of a dollar, how not to follow others just because everyone else was doing it, and how to stand in my own space and be my own man.So thank you Dad. You have taught me to be able to see remarkable people, remarkable things, because you are remarkable and always have been. Thanks for being truly remarkable.Your loving son,Chuck[img_assist|nid=199|title=Me and My Dad, Leon|desc=|link=popup|align=center|width=380|height=506]

Using Facebook to find a job

Published by Chuck Franks on April 1st, 2009

Leave no stone unturned. I’m not sure if that is a real quote or just a philosophy. It is definitely how I feel about using facebook to help you look for a job. I wouldn’t rely on it as your only means but I definitely would use it to my advantage.  I recommend all my clients get on facebook. Where else can you network on your own time. You don’t have to dress up.  You don’t have to do anything but engage and be engaging. Be yourself.  Remember posting pictures and talking about how much you drank over the weekend is not what a potential employer wants to hear about. Nor does it give your friends (contacts) the right image of who you are as a potential employee or someone they might recommend to a friend to hire.  So be aware of staying positive in your tone and message.  Remember your branding yourself.  Brand yourself well. Be the person someone wants to hire. Chuck Franks, PCCBusiness/Life/Relationship CoachHelping people improve their lives by enhancing their relationships.

Go directly to the source, Company websites for job postings

Published by Chuck Franks on April 1st, 2009

Who should you follow on twitter when your looking for a job? Better yet why should you follow someone on twitter? How to use social media to help you find a job. I recommend @alisondoyle on twitter. She writes and talks about job search so if your unemployed or even looking for a job even though you already have one but want to keep up with all the new ways to further your career. I suggest you follow her.You can find one of her articles she wrote about looking at a specific companies website rather than relying on monster.com or careerbuilder.com herehttp://jobsearch.about.com/od/companyresearch/a/companywebsite.htmCompanies are getting smart about they way they are going about advertising jobs. So you have to keep up and be smart along with them. Don’t only rely on the old methods of waiting for a job to be posted and sending in your resume. Think about how you can make yourself stand out in a crowd, or in this case a stack of resumes all wanting employment. Start using resources like facebook and other social media sites to help network to get the word out to everyone you know that your looking and need help with leads.Feel free to contact me with your questions about how to use social media to help you find a job.Chuck Franks, PCCBusiness Relationship Coachwww.innerstrengthquest.com
