I wanted to share this because there are people struggling and not knowing how to ask for help. This includes medical providers who don’t know how to offer help to their patients. Sometimes as patients we expect medical providers to know how things will affect us and in that expectation comes disappointment that the healing they offer can impact other aspects of the patients lives. One of those areas is sexual health including but not limited to sexual functioning of the penis.
My own recommendations to patients include write your questions down before you go in to see your doctor. Shame, embarrassment, rushed doctors schedules, or just being overwhelmed all can be things that prevent sexual health conversations from happening resulting in leaving people scared and feeling alone.
