New Coaches

New Coaches or anyone for that matter thinking about starting up a business needs to think about the choices they are making. You can also always utilize this information even if you’ve been in business for a while. It’s never to late to continue to plan for the future. I remember when my Dad was teaching me how to drive. He said always focus your eye farther down the road so you can see not only what is in front of you but also what is coming up farther down the road.

I’m about to start teaching a Business 101 class. The first thing I tell people is buy a domain name. Get e-mail that is specific to your domain. Mine is Chuck@InnerStrengthQuest.com

Why?

With technology constantly changing we need to plan for the future and things can change. I have a roadrunner account through Time Warner, an AOL account, a YAHOO account all have e-mails with them.

However, You want to make sure your presenting yourself as someone who is professional first and foremost so AOL and Yahoo and gmail are all throw away e-mail accounts. Use them for family and friends but not for business.

So your asking why not use my server kc.rr.com? Well what happens if you spend several years and lots of money promoting your business just so Time Warner can switch and Comcast takes over this region. What if you move or decide to change servers? You don’t want all your hard work and money to hit a dead end.

Doesn’t it make more sense to spend about $50 to get not only a domain name but web mail that you can then have several e-mails you can use to promote your business and access from anywhere in the world.

In addition to Chuck@InnerStrengthquest.com I also have billing@InnerStrengthquest.com info@InnerStrengthquest.com So take the time to set up your business in a way that will allow you to maneuver whatever changes might come along in the future.

I welcome your comments about your advise to new start up business owners and coaches.
