Last fall I found myself a little overwhelmed by several goals I wanted to pursue in both my business and personal life. These were important goals that I had in mind for a long time, but I had yet to fully commit to and meet head on.

I wasn’t sure how to proceed or how I could achieve all of my goals without compromising any of them. So I decided to look online for a life or business coach who could help me.

When I visited Chuck’s web page and got a feel for his style, personality and expertise, I immediately felt he was the coach I was looking for. We met soon after and I found him to be exactly what he represented himself to be, and a great fit for me personally.

Chuck helped me clearly define realistic and measurable goals, with priorities and timelines for each. And more than that, after he understood what was important to me and what it would take in order for me to succeed, he held me accountable every step of the way, all the while offering his full support.

In addition, I have found Chuck to be very insightful in helping me think about issues (or blind spots) around a variety of topics that I would not normally contemplate or address on my own. His feedback and constructive thinking have been an immense help. This aspect of his coaching is beyond what I expected.

I am very pleased with the results Chuck’s coaching has provided. I am focused and actively taking steps to achieving all of my goals. Successfully completing these goals will make a huge difference in terms of the condition of my business as well as my health and well being. With Chuck’s help, I look forward to seeing each goal through to completion.

Most of us know what we want and what is best for ourselves, or our business. And everyone could benefit from the unique perspective and skills that a Coach like Chuck offers. Particularly if you are in business for yourself and no longer have a manager or boss to keep you motivated and on your toes. It’s easy to become complacent and lose momentum in the direction of your goals and the life you want to create.

I highly recommend Chuck Franks; he will certainly help you create the life you want!

I am sitting here relaxing on a quiet Friday evening. Over a cup of sweet mint tea I mentally review my week. What a week. I was incredibly busy. As usual. I had a large number of challenges. As usual. My job, in the financial sector, was wild. As usual. And my responsibilities with my family were non-stop. Of course. Mothers never go “off duty”.

Really the only thing unusual about my evening is how I am feeling. Relaxed. Confident. In control. Accomplished.

Although I had been like that for much of my life those feelings had eroded in the past few years. First came the “life changing events”. Then being overwhelmed by responsibilities stacking up higher than the Eiffel Tower. So many balls to try to keep in the air. I juggled as fast as I could but invariably one would fall. And then that one became the priority. Soon my priorities were being dictated more by which ball fell to the ground than by which was really the most important.

I knew that I needed something to change. Or someone to help. But where does one find a person to help you get your life back under control?

I saw an advertisement for Chuck Franks, Life Coach. Hmmm. I had heard of Life Coaches before but I had no clue what they did. I gave him a call. We talked for a bit and he offered a free session. Well heck, I thought, “why not!” I have to admit, I was a bit startled in that session. I had expected a sales job with a smattering of help. A little peek at what he could do, then the sales pitch.

Instead I got a level headed assessment of my situation. We discussed a possible course of action. We talked about what I could do by myself, and what Chuck could offer. I decided to give it a try.

From the very start Chuck was sensitive to determining my needs and firm in his resolve to provide constructive input. He has been instrumental in helping me change some very detrimental thoughts. Of course I didn’t realize the thoughts were sabotaging me. And I wasn’t too convinced that they were a problem when Chuck brought them up. But he was right. They were a huge problem.

Throughout the months we worked together in order to to get me back on track. Chuck’s incredible insight, sensitivity and expertise have been like a beacon in the dark. Lighting the way. Helping me to change the few things I could change but mainly to work internally so that I was dealing with my challenges in a constructive, efficient and productive manner.

Chuck has made this difficult time into a journey I now face with positive anticipation. I have to wonder where I would be if I hadn’t been lucky enough to find him. There is no way to know I guess. But, I did find him. And so here I sit with my cup of tea. Reflecting on a full, challenging, positive and basically awesome week. Thanks Chuck! You’re the best!

Our competitive natures, which was one of the things that attracted us to each other in the first place, was beginning to cause harm to our new marriage. Both of us were so focused on “winning” our disagreements, that at the end of the day we were beginning to lose our enjoyment in each other.

Chuck has been immensely helpful to our relationship. Instead of dwelling on “who’s right” and “who’s wrong” and assigning blame, he helps us stay on track to improve how we communicate. He also coaches us to focus on the positive and to express our gratitude for each other every day.

After working with Chuck, we have learned to place our relationship at a higher priority. While we still have our disagreements, we are much more accepting and appreciative of each other’s differences. Chuck is never afraid to constructively put one of us in our place when we need it, and his sense of humor and fair play goes a long way in helping us understand what it takes to have a successful marriage. We very much appreciate his kindness and professionalism.

“When I first signed on with Chuck, I was a little skeptical about the whole coaching process. In under 6 months I have come to realize how valuable of a tool this can
be. It has kept me focused, increased my production and makes me accountable for the goals I have set.”

“In the past I had a lot of good ideas about ways to increase my production and become more efficient, but many of those never came to fruition. Now with
Chuck as my coach, I have accountability and make myself spend time on things that are truly important.”

“Unfortunately many of my most important daily tasks are the ones I spend the least amount of time. Having Chuck as my coach has made me realize that
now I must concentrate and focus on these tasks. With someone to hold me accountable and set a slotted time aside each week to really focus on these
has been great for me.”

Happy New Year! I look forward to working with you again this year, especially as I roll out my expanded and more personalized business model. I am excited about all of the marketing and growing strategies I have outlined. Before I move ahead, I wanted to offer my gratitude, man.

I want to thank you for being such a good listener—without your attention to detail, the occasional and thoughtful use of silence between comments and questions, and the encouragement to edit a comment so that positive outcomes could be identified and paths to them be laid out, I doubt that you would have been able to relate to me as well as you have. You gave me space to inventory what negative and fear-based clutter was in my way of successfully designing my business

Thank you for positioning yourself as a good observer—It meant a great deal to me to be able to guide you on a design tour of the homes of several of my clients. Your reaction and your observation-based questions helped me realize that I was undervaluing my skills as a unique designer, a meticulous artist, a mentor, and as a businessman. You’ve taken a look at not only my work, but also helped me evaluate how I related with my clients and crew. When you first acknowledged, “I can see that relationships with your clients and crew are very important to you, Andrew. Are you aware of the impact you have on others and on your business?” I began to focus more on integrating my personal strengths and my beliefs about happiness with my business approaches.

Thank you for staying in the sometimes awkward and sometimes stagnant business-building trenches with me. You understood what my career in education has meant to me and how much coaching and teaching others thrills me. I realize that you do what I do—you look with the client at their landscape and help them see what is working and what is not. Through our coaching, I have discovered my own needs, taken time to visualize my success in different ways, and claimed resources needed to nourish my own desired lifestyle. It has been natural, safe and quite funny to concede that I was working so hard and giving so much so that others could recognize my talents that I did not take time to cherish myself. I have finally recognized a way to create and balance a career that reflects not only my enhanced business savvy, but also one that capitalizes on my abilities to teach, mentor, design, and create unique living areas. As I have personalized my business, I have become prosperous and much happier, and that fulfillment, I am confident, is having a positive impact on the valued relationships I have with clients, employees, friends and family. .

Without being right there with me, you would not have had the incredible impact on my decision-making and self-esteem. You see, one of the most positive effects of our business-coaching relationships is the confidence I have gained as person engaged in making my own life as well as those who surround me better and more meaningful.

If I had experienced just one of above-mentioned coaching dynamics, I would feel much appreciation and gratitude. However, I experienced so many that I want you to know I know that you have provided a clear model of what it means to provide comprehensive coaching that went beyond the basics and deeper than my title as a designer and business owner. To have been helped so personally and professionally, I am truly blessed and energized. For helping me create, recognize and claim my own personal spaces and scapes, I thank you.

Coaching was something I was familiar with but hadn’t looked into until I spoke with Chuck.  The concept of focusing on the positive and beneficial things in life and to set priorities and focus has had amazing results.

I brought Chuck in to work with my staff and myself.  The following is a brief summary of the results after only 3 months.

I had one employee that was completely opposed and only worked with Chuck for a 3 weeks and claimed that she got nothing out of the process, but all of a sudden she is doing more and taking a proactive approach to her job.  So if nothing else she got a better understanding of what was expected from her.

The most amazing results was from the 3rd person I had enrolled in the program.  Almost everything about him changed.  He went from grumpy and not wanting to go to work to happy and excited about the potential that laid before him.  By focusing on the things he was doing right and the potential of what could be accomplished, along with setting some clear and obtainable goals, his performance has improved by 400-500%.  He is much happier in all aspects of his life, work, home, personal life and social life.

As for myself, Chuck and I worked in a couple of areas.  One was a more encompassing look at the companies financials and focusing specifically on areas of concern for myself. It was that concentration and focus on those areas that actually allowed me to not only meet my goals set but exceed them.  On a personal level we were able to look at my relationship histories and what I want and deserve and it has changed my focus as I navigate the ever changing world of dating.  Again by focusing on the positives and what is best for me it helps to guide and change behavioral habits that could be getting in the way of finding what would truly makes me happy.

I think that this process is something that is beneficial to almost everyone and I would highly recommend Chuck Franks as the coach for the job.

When I first started with Chuck as my coach I had no clue as of what to expect. What originally brought me to the idea of having a life coach was this time in my life. Five months prior I had lost a job that I had pursued for 15 years. So there I sat on Feb 2nd 2006 with Chuck Franks. I had just completed my first week of a new career path. I had just changed from a life of being inside four walls for 10-12 hours a day to a life of freedom. My mind raced with anxiety about what is going to happen if I fail at this. Would he really listen or what could he possibly do for me?

What exactly did my coach do? First he listened, keeping my ramblings of broad thoughts directed and helping me focus them into distinct goals for the coming week. He helped me identify through some assessment tests identifying what my strengths are.

Each week my coach had me identify by writing down how my week had gone. Identifying both accomplishments and areas that still needed to be developed and would help focus my process of growth. Going into real estate sales, sales which I never imagined myself doing, was a tough transition. Money being the biggest concern would not be earned if sales did not transpire. Real estate was unlike my past career paths in restaurant and banking management where clients walked through the door. Real estate is a prospecting, convincing, searching, hoping, career. Chuck helped me realize that the same strengths I had before I still had and could utilize in my new career. One I am fully empowered to undertake now.

Coaching has allowed me to walk through a severe change in my life. In the end I know that with time I may have been able to do this on my own but to have my voice heard and a sounding board to direct my focus has allowed me to reach my goals in a shorter amount of time.

My time with my Coach is my time. My growth is my effort. My success is my measurement. My use of my coach is only as good as what I come prepared with.

Chuck worked with my partner and I–helping us understand how and where our personality strengths and weaknesses meshed and clashed, how
we could communicate more effectively, more often. The coaching started with a Myers-Briggs assessment. He explained and illuminated our test
results, then pushed us to discuss particular applications we had already observed of the principles there. He was both professional and
caring throughout the entire session. My partner and I have returned to the lessons of that session several times to help us through
difficulty and disagreement.

“Chuck is a wonderful coach. I hired Chuck in December 2008. He has a great system that allows him to quickly get to know his clients. Chuck does a fantastic job of outlining the process and clarifying expectations on both parties. Shortly after our initial consultation, I found out my husband wanted a divorce. Chuck completely understood my situation and found the perfect balance of concern and accountability without being overbearing or pushy. I really appreciate his empathy and willingness to assist me both as a coach and a new friend during an extremely difficult period in my life. My career was also in chaos during this time and he definitely assisted me in obtaining my new role at Kansas Gas Service. I landed this new role in 5 months in the midst of a really crappy economy. I did the work, but Chuck was there every step of the way as a sounding board and coach to cheer, support, and at times, call it like it was. Without his exercises to get me thinking about what I wanted both personally and professionally, I would not be in my fabulous new role as an HR Consultant. Thank you Chuck!!!” June 23, 2009
